Record money

Accounts and credit cards

Keep cash, bank and card activity separate, and record a card payment after it happens.

Choose the right account

Create one account for each place you want to track money, such as a wallet, bank account or credit card. Pick the account when recording a transaction so balances remain meaningful.

Credit-card payments

Card purchases increase your recorded card debt. When you have paid the issuer through your bank, open the card and choose Record payment. Enter the amount you actually paid and the source account. Kakeibo records the movement between accounts rather than counting the payment as new spending.

Card cycle activity, available credit and due dates in Kakeibo are estimates. Your issuer’s statement is authoritative for amounts due, minimum payments, interest and fees. Kakeibo never initiates the payment.
